Today while pursuing my twitter, yes they are more useful for other things than witty updates, I ran across a tweet regarding a charity raising funds for Haiti. For some reason, it peaked my interest. The Charity is Crafts for a Cause and is run by Binki Shapiro of the band Little Joy. Shapiro is asking celebrities, mainly musicians, to make crafts or handmade pieces to donate to an online auction from which all the proceeds going to Artists for Peace and Justice,
an organization founded by Paul Haggis. This organization sends 100% of all funds raised directly to relief efforts on the ground and to long term sustainability in Haiti. To learn more about them, visit www.artistsforpeaceandjustice.com
Artists contributing to Crafts for a Cause include:
Sia, No Doubt, JD Samson, Jenny Lewis, Norah Jones, The Strokes, Rodarte, Vampire Weekend, Robin Pecknold from Fleet Foxes, Regina Spektor, Natalie Portman and many more to come!
The auctions officially being on March 15th. To find out more information and for updates check out Crafts website.
